Was lucky enough to catch the Friday game of the final homestand of the season (against the Pirates). This also happened to be the 10-year anniversary of the last "performance" of Take Me Out to The Ball Game by Harry Caray.

I met my new niece during a recent trip home to Maryland (8/11). Kathryn (Katie) Marie Bollhorst was born on Lollapalooza Friday, August 3rd. In fact, I got the call that she had been born on my way to the festival that morning. So cool!

There's nothing like taking in a live show (or at least being NEAR one) on a beautiful summer night at Ravinia. A group of about 25 of us made the trip up to Highland Park on Friday night, 8/10, to catch Nickel Creek and Fiona Apple.

During a visit to see the family this fall, we headed to the Summer's Farm "Fall for All Festival". Emily had a great time climbing, sliding and riding (a train AND a pony!) ... it was an absolutely beautiful fall day.

fireworks booze cruise

Bar1Events set-up a booze cruise to coincide with the city's big fireworks show on July 3rd. The three hour ride provided amazing views of both the city skyline at dusk and, of course, the fireworks.
